Be the Change – My Journey Through Curriculum, Coaching, and Creating Pathways

I live by a simple philosophy: be the change you wish to see in the world. That belief has guided every step of my career — from classrooms and boardrooms to Zoom coaching sessions. My focus has always been on creating opportunities, pivoting through barriers, and sharing the knowledge I once wished I had myself. Networking and netweaving have been pivotal to my success.

That’s why partnering with Restore More to author entrepreneurship lessons for Girls For A Change was so meaningful. It gave me the chance to equip young women with tools to navigate entrepreneurship while modeling what it looks like to step boldly into spaces not always designed for us. I’m truly grateful to have created impactful work for us, by us.

One of the anchor lessons I designed was the 4Ps of Entrepreneurship: Passion, Profit, Plan, and Pitch. These aren’t just concepts I teach — they are principles that continue to guide my own career journey.

Passion – My passion is creating opportunities for others to learn. I don’t just want them to survive for today. I want them to know how to sustain themselves for generations to come. Living in your purpose means using your gifts to meet real needs and empower others.

Profit – To make a real difference, you can’t stay in survival mode. Profit creates stability and allows you to give back by networking & netweaving. The stronger your social capital…the more successful and less stressed you will be. Always remember: your netWORK often determines your netWORTH!

Plan – Every pivot I’ve made required a plan. How will you begin, sustain, and grow? What tools and networks can you leverage? Strategic and data-informed planning keeps you disciplined when the journey gets arduous.

Pitch – Great ideas only matter if people hear them. Therefore confidence and clearly articulating your vision is key — speak with clarity about what you can guarantee and replicate responsibly. My personal motto: under-promise and over-deliver. Or as The Four Agreements reminds us: Be impeccable with your word.

When I designed the Immersion Lab, I carried these same principles forward. My goal is for young women to see who they can become, connect in sisterhood, and leave feeling prepared, affirmed, and confident. Even before it launches, I know this work will help shape the next generation of business leaders.

Beyond curriculum design, I consult with school districts and colleges across the nation and abroad, designing curriculum across subject areas and facilitating professional development both virtually and onsite. I also partner with organizations that curate opportunities for diverse communities to thrive. I’m agile with a diverse skillset of facilitating restorative practices workshops, navigating complex and candid conversations with diverse stakeholders, and providing tailored executive career coaching to a variety of professionals.

Over the years, I’ve worked with learners ranging from kindergarteners to superintendents to CEOs. And no matter their age or title, the common thread is always the same: the desire to grow into their best self. My role is to create the conditions, tools, and strategies that help them get there. Change doesn’t happen by chance — it happens when we choose to be the change intentionally! That’s the work I get to do every day, and I’m deeply grateful for it!
